A couple of years ago my dentist and hygienist told me about Xylimelts, which I promptly ordered and appreciated as soon as I used them. After suffering teeth problems due to meds for years, it's too late for me to save my uppers -- dry mouth had decayed my teeth, even with plenty of hydration, good dental hygiene and wonderful dental care (when I didn't put it off a few times, sigh...), and I’m about to get dentures :( .
I started out putting two in my mouth at night, but that seemed to be a bit much -- they'd cause me to drool and stain my pillow (washed right out!) Mostly out of concern for the cost of Xylimelts, I began putting only one in my mouth at bedtime. This has worked well for the most part, though some nights I still wake up with a dry mouth, and sometimes put in another one. This could be due to allergies though, my nose is often stuffy as I sleep. However, two would probably prevent this from happening.
I tried the non-mint kind first, then accidentally ordered the mint kind once, but I prefer the non-mint flavor. It’s got no real taste, and that suits me fine. By the way, it does take 10 seconds to adhere them, but if you are not comfortable with that spot, you can move them to a better one without them losing their “stick” to the outside of your teeth or gums.
